Food allergies When eating becomes a punishment
“Immediately after eating, I get dead tired”, “After eating, my heart starts racing”, “I often feel nauseous after eating”.
This is how people with food intolerances experience their agonizing complaints.
Normal food causes nausea, cramps in the gastrointestinal tract, vomiting or diarrhea. A distended abdomen or flatulence are the frequent accompanying symptoms. The overloaded digestive tract can also lead to palpitations, a drop in blood pressure or irregular heartbeat.
Often only a few foods trigger this at first, but if left untreated it usually becomes more – a path of suffering begins in which those affected can tolerate less and less food well.
How does Vedic Medicine view food intolerances?
Food allergies from an Ayurvedic point of view
According to the Maharishi Ayurveda approach, food allergies start with the loss of natural balance.
Metabolic residues and toxins, called “ama” in Ayurveda, are constantly produced – due to our way of life – which have accumulated in the digestive tract in the case of food intolerances. The intestines can no longer completely break down certain foods into their finest components, intestinal gases are produced by putrefactive products, which further weakens healthy intestinal functions – a vicious circle.
But according to Ayurveda, no two patients are alike, and so every food intolerance is different. The Ayurvedic approach in our clinic is based on holism.
