Eczema When the skin forms blisters
“At first it just looked a little red,” “Then little blisters appeared,” “It itches so bad I scratch myself.”
This or something similar is how people with eczema experience their annoying skin symptoms.
In eczema – the so-called itchy skin – the skin first reddens, then small blisters appear, which open and secrete moisture. Then scales and crusts form. Eczema is not contagious, but can be caused by contact with skin-irritating substances.
They can occur acutely and heal again – but they can also persist chronically for a long time. Then the skin swells and gradually develops a coarsened skin structure.
How does Vedic medicine view eczema?
Eczema from an Ayurvedic point of view.
According to the Maharishi Ayurveda approach, an eczema starts with the loss of natural balance.
Metabolic residues and toxins, called “ama” in Ayurveda, are constantly produced – due to our way of life – which in the case of eczema have accumulated in the affected skin areas. This is accompanied by a weakening of the metabolism and a reduced excretory function of the gastrointestinal tract as well as the liver.
However, according to Ayurveda, no two patients are alike and so each eczema is different. The Ayurvedic approach in our clinic is based on holism.
What can Ayurveda do for you?
In Vedic medicine, an eczema is addressed by combining various treatments into a multi-faceted approach adapted to your individual situation, as determined in a comprehensive diagnosis by one of our physicians.
An integrated approach
Increasingly, patients are finding that conventional therapies alone are not enough.
They recognize that the path to recovery must take place at all levels. For example, in the case of eczema, the focus can be on the elimination of toxins or the balancing of the digestive tract. It is important to bring the natural regulatory principles back into a necessary balance. Dietary recommendations, helpful exercises as well as special herbal mixtures – all put together especially for you – help you to lead a more conscious lifestyle. So that your natural self-healing powers can lead you back to a beautiful, clear complexion.
