Acne
When pimples, papules and pustules bloom

“I suffer from the ugly pimples on my face”, “I look like a crumb cake”, “I have already got scars from the deep craters”.

This or something similar is how sufferers experience their troublesome skin condition.

Everyone knows acne. Typically, it appears during puberty when the body is changing to a new hormonal balance, but acne forms can occur at any age.

In acne, sebaceous glands and hair roots become diseased. In the beginning, larger blackheads develop, which are later colonized by bacteria and become inflamed. The skin then becomes bright red, raised thickenings develop – blisters, from which pus escapes, as well as closed nodes, which not infrequently heal with scarring. Mostly the face, the décolleté and the upper back are affected.

How does Vedic Medicine view acne?

Acne from an Ayurvedic point of view

According to the Maharishi Ayurveda approach, acne starts with the loss of natural balance.

Due to our way of life, metabolic residues and toxins, called “Ama” in Ayurveda, are constantly produced. In the case of acne, these have accumulated mainly in the skin areas of the face, décolleté and back. This is accompanied by a weakening of the excretory function of internal organs and a hormonal imbalance.

However, according to Ayurveda, no two patients are alike and so each acne is different. The Ayurvedic approach in our clinic is based on holism.

What can Ayurveda do for you?

In Vedic medicine, acne is addressed by combining various treatments into a multi-faceted approach adapted to your individual situation, as determined in a comprehensive diagnosis by one of our physicians.

An integrated approach

Increasingly, patients are finding that conventional therapies alone are not enough.

They recognize that the path to recovery must take place at all levels. In the case of acne, for example, the focus can be on the elimination of toxins, the activation of disturbed excretory functions or the balancing of the hormonal system. It is important to bring the natural regulatory principles back into a necessary balance. Dietary recommendations, helpful exercises as well as special herbal mixtures – all put together especially for you – help you to lead a more conscious lifestyle. So that your natural self-healing powers can lead you back to a clear, calm complexion.
